Socks, inverted!
I recently bought a new set of Chiaogoo TWIST Shorties Interchangeable needles (such a big mouthful for such a tiny set of needles)! I decided I wanted to launch back into sock knitting, and figured this would be the way to fall in love with sock knitting again after (somewhat) successfully knitting a pair of socks mostly using Magic Loop.
No, I don't know why I got the interchangeable Shorties set.
BUT
I got them, and I fell in love with them so hard.
I fell in love with them so hard, I immediately cast on.
I immediately cast on, even though I didn't have enough yarn for a single sock.
Even though I didn't have enough yarn for a single sock, I cast on for two socks.
Wait.
I can already hear you in my head, asking questions as if I can hear you in real life.
Why did you cast on two socks with short circulars?
How did you cast on two socks with short circulars?!
What sort of insane are you anyway?
Friends and strangers of the internet, my perusal of the internet suggests that what I have cast on is called 2-in-1 socks. It is exciting and new to me, and the craziest, flying-by-the-seat-of-my-pants thing about it is that I'm knitting my outside sock inside out, so I don't even know if my gauge is going to be the same!! I'm purling on the outside, and knitting on the inside, so that outside has yarn in front, and inside has yarn in the back. This seems like a totally reasonable plan to me so far (with my rolled cuff Rose City Rollers) but we'll see what happens once I'm in full-blown heel mode. I've just started knitting the heel now, so this may or may not end in tears..
Wish me luck!
