Learning Lessons from my Socks

Lately, the knitting project I've most readily picked up has been my Rose City Rollers socks, knit 2-in-1 on my tiny 23cm circular needles. I'm really loving how these socks are turning out, and I'm especially keen to get started on knitting my next sock.

However, in the course of my sock knitting, I have definitely learned a few things. Despite having enjoyed watching peoples' faces when I've pulled out my 2-in-1 sock project, and show them how they've been knit, I realise that I am definitely knitting the two socks at a slower pace than if I were knitting the socks one at a time. My next socks are definitely going to be knit one at a time, on small circular needles, and I am expecting them to fly! Even though I know I'm slower with the 2-in-1 socks, they do have the strong advantage of allowing me to finish both socks at the same time, without ladders, and without the risk of (yet) a(nother) single finished sock at the end...

I guess this just leaves me with no alternative but to make sure I only cast on the most interesting and engaging of sock patterns, to ensure that I get both of them finished! I look forward to sharing my next sock project!
